The mission of the Center for Coastal Studies (CCS) “is a non-profit organization dedicated to understanding, preserving and protecting marine ecosystems and the coastal environment through applied research, education and public policy initiatives.” The CCS works with local, national and international organizations to create new polices and strategies that are created from scientific research. Some of the recent strategies worked on were studying wave patterns that hit the Truro cliffs to find ways to mitigate impacts of coastal erosion.
